Valentine’s Day @ The Boiling Point

kidego acoustic

Last night was the premier of Kid Ego‘s Acoustic ditty at the Boiling Point in Southaven, MS. I’d say it went rather well. That place was PACKED! I think it was mostly for the Shrimp and Gumbo though. They know how to cook some seafood.

Thanks again to Mel and Charlie for having us out. I think maybe it’ll become an annual event for Kid Ego. I also want to thank the world’s best roadie (Brad Shockley) for having everything set and for having a nice tall cold Gunniess waiting on stage for me when I walked in the door at 6:28 for a 6:30 show. I-55 and Goodman is the black hole of the MS Interstate system.

It’s a good thing we like each other and bathe regularly, because that was a very small stage. You gotta start somewhere though right?

Today’s rehearsal

We had our first rehearsal with Zack today and as expected it was HAPPENIN’ CAP’T! The vocal harmonies were great, Ted continue to amaze me with his voice, I just thought he was a great bassist. Anyway, I’m going to sneak a video camera into the next practice and let you guys have a look inside what goes on. We’ll keep it “G” rated…no worries.

Upcoming Kid Ego Shows

Are you ready for this?

Busy first weekend:

The premier of the Midsouth’s newest rock band will be Friday February 24th. Order tickets now for Kid Ego at 1884 Lounge inside Minglewood Hall. Hoping for a great turn out. Try to get your tickets early, I’m not sure what the max-capacity is for 1884, but I have a feeling we’re gonna hit it. You can also see us the next night Saturday, February 25th at The FIllin Stationclick here for details. And then Sunday night February 26th you can catch us at the rockin’est hamburger place around… Huey’s Southaven, show starts at 8:00p.m.. It’ll be a nice end to a great weekend. Also, Zack Horvath of The Living Daylights and Chosen View will be playing with us these first few shows.

The warm-up:

If you care to catch some of the warm-up shows (all acoustic) earlier you can catch us at The Boiling Point on Valentine’s Day from 6:30 to 8:30. Ted, Juno, and I will be singing some love songs, maybe ; ). And you can see Juno and me at The Spot on Wednesday February 22 from 7:00 to 10:00p.m.

And they’re off…!

Well, this is it. I can officially claim responsibility for the first Kid Ego Website post. See you silly kids out there soon. Much mayhem will ensue.
